Having noticed Bloog on various electronic cigarette review sites, we decided to try it out for ourselves. Bloog Maxx offers 5 options for their starter kits. In order, according to price, these are the Basic Starter Kit ($39.99), the Deluxe Starter Kit ($49.99), the Slider Personal Charging Case Starter Kit ($69.99) and the Ultimate Starter Kit ($94.99). Since the least expensive option included everything that we needed to conduct our tests, we ordered the Basic Starter Kit. It arrived at our door in less than a week.
Bloog Maxx’s Basic Starter Kit contains a tray holding one 3¼ inch battery and a black velvet battery pouch that can hold two fully-assembled electronic cigarettes. Most basic kits do not contain such extras as this pouch and we were impressed with it.
Usually, electronic cigarette brands receive good reviews for solid construction. However, Bloog Maxx Fusion is the unfortunate exception to this rule.

Beneath the tray we found the instruction manual and two boxes. The smaller box held five cartomizers. Each was bubble-wrapped and sealed in foil. Our selected flavor was 555 and the nicotine strength was 36mg, just as we had ordered. The larger of the two boxes contained a USB adapter and an AC wall charger.
Not being prone to wasting time, we attached one of the cartomizers to the battery. It is our custom, at this point, to describe the physical quality and integrity of these devices. Usually, electronic cigarette brands receive good reviews for solid construction. However, Bloog Maxx is an unfortunate exception to this rule. We felt as though we were joining two rusted components of a machine.
As we like to give products every possible chance to earn a positrive review, we unscrewed the two parts and gave it another shot. This second attempt was more successful but we still noted resistance. We should have been able to join these two elements with light pressure and a gentle turning motion. It seemed as though one or both components had not been correctly finished.
Fully assembled, the Maxx Fusion electronic cigarette was just over 4½ inches long. E-cigarettes of this length often suffer from poor balance and the Maxx Fusion was no exception. If you want a longer and higher-powered battery, however, you must accept this trade-off.
At this juncture, we put the Maxx Fusion to our lips and took a long drag. We were pleased with the deep-red glow of the LED and the plume of white vapor. We have tested products with the 555 taste before but we are not particularly enamored of this flavor. This brand’s 555 was the best that we have tasted yet. A second drag and exhalation produced similar results. Overall, the taste and vapor made no more than an average impression on us. Since we were getting a powerful 36mg of nicotine every time we took a drag, we could better accept the mediocrity of the flavor and the distinctly average vapor volume.
After completing the first day of testing, we used the USB charger and AC wall adapter to charge the battery overnight. This starter kit comes with a choice of manual or automatic battery. We prefer automatic batteries as the manual type are more likely to encounter problems with the on-off switch.
The next day’s testing produced comparable results. The taste of the 555 flavor was better than most other brands’ but it was not something that we would enjoy on a regular basis. Vapor volume was also the same. We concluded our testing completely unimpressed.
In order to maintain a pack-a-day habit with the Bloog Maxx Fusion, it would cost $786.53 per year. This includes the cost of the Basic Starter Kit. Maintaining the same habit with regular tobacco cigarettes would cost $2,190 annually. The Bloog Maxx could save you just over $1400 each year.
